Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series TSF Digital Thermocouple Limit Alarm is a UL approved temperature limit control designed for gas-fired oven and burner control applications. The unit provides visual alarm status along with a relay output when a process temperature limit has been reached.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series accepts Type J, K, or S thermocouple inputs. Measurement ranges are 32 to 999°F (0 to 700°C) for thermocouple Type J and 32 to 999°F (0 to 999°C) for thermocouple Type K or S. Accuracy is specified as ±1% FS with a resolution of 1°. The ambient operating temperature range is 32 to 140°F (0 to 60°C), and the storage temperature range is -4 to 176°F (-20 to 80°C). The front panel rating is IP64 (NEMA 3R).
Configuration Options
The Series TSF offers configurable power supplies, display units, and functional options. Key capabilities include:
- Power Supply Options: Models are available for 115 VAC (-401), 230 VAC (-402), or 24 VAC/VDC (-404).
- Display Units: Configurable for Fahrenheit (code 0) or Celsius (code 1).
- Output Signal: NO SPST relay rated 16 A @ 240 VAC resistive with a Horsepower Rating of 1 HP.
- Control Type: ON/OFF control with manual or automatic reset capabilities depending on programming parameters (r3).
- Housing Dimensions: Overall dimensions are approximately 2.95 in [75 mm] width, 1.34 in [34 mm] height, and 2.72 in [69 mm] depth.
The series includes nonvolatile memory backup to retain settings during power loss.
Key Product Differences
The Series TSF distinguishes between two primary model configurations based on the option code:
- -DF (Limit Alarm): Features a built-in reset button and can accept an external reset signal. These models carry CE, cURus, UR, FM, and UL approvals.
- -MDF (Programmable Control): Required for entering program parameters that cannot be changed directly on the TSF-DF unit via buttons. The -MDF model is used in conjunction with a Model TS2-K configuration key to transfer settings from the programming control to the limit alarm.
The Series TSF-DF controls are not field serviceable; units requiring repair should be returned rather than repaired on-site.
