Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series CCT40/50 Current Transformers are designed for measuring power and monitoring the operation of fans, pumps, and other equipment. The series is documented for use in Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC applications.

Operating Conditions & Performance

These current transformers operate within an ambient temperature range of -22 to 158°F (-30 to 70°C) with a humidity rating of 0 to 95% (non-condensing). The series provides an accuracy of 1% and features a response time of 250 ms to 90%. Electrical isolation is rated at 2000 V, and the operating frequency range spans 10 to 400 Hz. Each model offers three jumper selectable ranges.

Measurement Ranges

  • CCT40 models: Field selectable up to 50 A (ranges include 10/20/50 A).
  • CCT50 models: Field selectable up to 200 A (ranges include 100/150/200 A).

Power Requirements

  • Voltage outputs (0-5 V, 0-10 V): Self-powered.
  • Current output (4-20 mA): Loop powered; requires 15 to 42 VDC.

Configuration Options

The series supports multiple configurations across core type, output signal, and range selection. Models are available in solid core or split core designs; split core models allow installation without disconnecting cables. The housing is constructed from ABS plastic with a UL 94 V-0 flammability rating.

Output Signals

  • 0 to 5 V (Self-powered)
  • 0 to 10 V (Self-powered)
  • 4 to 20 mA (Loop powered, 15-42 VDC)

Housing and Mounting

  • Solid core configurations.
  • Split core configurations for retrofit applications.
  • Integral mounting flange included for quick installation.

The series holds CE and cULus approvals. Electrical connections utilize terminals compatible with 14 to 22 AWG copper wire, which must be tightened securely.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the Series CCT40/50 are distinguished by their ampere range capability and output type:

  • CCT40 Models: Designed for lower current applications with selectable ranges of 10, 20, or 50 A.
  • CCT50 Models: Designed for higher current applications with selectable ranges of 100, 150, or 200 A.

The model suffix indicates the output signal and core type. For example, models ending in "-2" provide a voltage output (e.g., CCT40-202 is solid core with 0-5 V), while those ending in "-3" provide a 0-10 V output (solid core only). Models ending in "-0" are configured for the 4 to 20 mA current loop. Split core models utilize suffixes starting with "1" (e.g., CCT40-100, CCT50-102), whereas solid core models use suffixes starting with "2" or "3".
