Operating Conditions & Performance

The series meets or exceeds Special Limit of Error (SLE) and EN 60584-2: Tolerance Class 1. Measurement ranges vary by thermocouple type and probe style:

  • Type E: sub-zero to 425°C (800°F)
  • Type K: sub-zero to 480°C (900°F)
  • Low-Profile Penetration Probe handle: 162°C (325°F)
  • Epoxy Coated Tip Thermocouple: 105°C (221°F)

All probes are made in USA.

The TJFT72 series supports multiple probe styles, including Heavy-Duty Penetration Probe, Tee-Style Penetration Probe, Fine Tip TJ Probe, Low-Profile Penetration Probe, Autoclave Probe, and Epoxy Coated Tip Thermocouple. Selection is defined by calibration type, sheath material, lead length, and connector style.

Dimensions by Probe Style

Diameters and lengths vary according to the specific probe configuration:

  • Fine Tip TJ Probe: 0.5 mm (0.020") diameter
  • Low-Profile and Autoclave Probes: 6.4 mm (0.25") diameter; Autoclave insertion length is 100 mm (4").
  • Tee-Style Probe: 1/4" diameter, 250 mm (10") stem length.
  • Heavy-Duty Probe: 203 mm (8") stem length.
  • Overall lengths include 1.5 m (5') for Heavy-Duty, Tee-Style, and Low-Profile Probes; 1 m (3') for Autoclave Probe; and 4.5 m (15') for Epoxy Coated Tip Thermocouple.

Connections and Leads

The series offers miniature connectors, subminiature male connectors, and molded miniature connectors. Lead wire options include PFA insulated wire in lengths such as 1.8 m (6') for codes 116G and 116U. Stripped leads are available for the Epoxy Coated Tip Thermocouple by adding suffix "-SE" to the model number.

Key Product Differences

The series is configured using a specific model numbering guide: TJFT72-<CALIBRATION>-<SHEATH>-<LENGTH>-<CONNECTOR>. For example, the part number TJFT72-K-SS-116G-6-SMPW-M denotes a Type K thermocouple with a 304 SS sheath. Other lengths are available upon consultation with Sales.

Probes feature various tip styles including penetration tips, threaded tips, hypodermic tips, and epoxy sealed junction tips depending on the specific probe family selected within the series.
