Supported Applications

The Omega PX2310 Series consists of rangeable, wet-to-wet differential pressure transmitters designed for energy management, process control, flow measurement, liquid level monitoring, and measuring pressure drops across filters. These factory-calibrated units convert differential pressure into a proportional analog output signal.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within an ambient temperature range of -4 to +185 °F (-20 to +85 °C), with compensation provided from 32 to 130 °F (0 to +54 °C). Accuracy is specified as ±1.0% Full Scale RSS for Ranges A, B & C and ±2.0% RSS full scale for Range D. The device features a selectable response time of 1 to 5 seconds.

Pressure limits include a proof pressure rating of 2.2 x full scale and a burst pressure of 40 x full scale. Environmental durability is rated at NEMA 4, with shock resistance up to 200 g and vibration tolerance of 10 g from 50 to 2000 Hz.

Measurement Ranges

The series supports field-selectable unidirectional and bidirectional ranges across three maximum line pressure versions:

  • PX2310-050DX: Unidirectional 0 to 5, 10, 20, or 50 psi; Bidirectional ±5, ±10, ±20, or ±50 psi.
  • PX2310-100DX: Unidirectional 0 to 10, 20, 50, or 100 psi; Bidirectional ±10, ±20, ±50, or ±100 psi.
  • PX2310-250DX: Unidirectional 0 to 25, 50, 125, or 250 psi; Bidirectional ±25, ±50, ±125, or ±250 psi.

Power and Output Specifications

The transmitter accepts an excitation voltage of 12 to 30 Vdc (typically @ 5 mA) or 18 to 28 Vac (typical @ 40 mA), with reverse polarity protection. Minimum supply voltage is calculated as Vdc = 12 + 0.2 x loop resistance, and maximum supply voltage is Vdc = 30 + 0.004 x loop resistance.

Configurable output signals include:

  • 0 to 5 Vdc
  • 0 to 10 Vdc
  • 1 to 5 Vdc (3-wire system)
  • 4 to 20 mA (2-wire system, load resistance 0 to 1000 Ω)

Configuration Options

The PX2310 Series offers a rugged die-cast aluminum housing with powder coating and includes a 4-digit LCD display capable of showing either line or differential pressure. The unit features auto-zero capability via pushbutton or remote zero, along with jumper-selectable Hi/Lo ports.

Process Connections & Wetted Materials

Standard process connections are provided as ⅛-18 NPT internal fittings for High and Low ports. The wetted parts consist of 17-4 PH stainless steel; however, these materials are not recommended for hydrogen service.

Optional Accessories

An optional 3-valve manifold assembly is available with the following specifications:

  • Manifold Block Material: Brass (specifically 360 Brass)
  • Valves: Three valves including V1 for connection to + port, V2 for connection to - port, and V3 for equalizing pressure.
  • Process Connections: ¼-18 NPT internal thread
  • O-Rings: Nitrile (compatible with gases or liquids compatible with Acetal plug valves)

The manifold is normally shipped with valves V1 and V2 closed and V3 open.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the series are distinguished by their maximum line pressure rating, which dictates the available selectable ranges. The PX2310-050DX supports a maximum of 50 psi, the PX2310-100DX up to 100 psi, and the PX2310-250DX up to 250 psi.

Electrical connections are standardized across the series with a ½ in conduit opening. The device dimensions are listed as 102 L x 152 W x 51 mm diameter (4.0 x 6 x 2"), and weight is approximately 0.7 kg (25 oz).

Important operational notes include: never totally submerge the unit in liquid, do not exceed maximum range pressure with the total of differential pressure and line pressure, and these products are not designed for human applications.
