Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series WHT is a weather-resistant humidity and temperature transmitter designed for outdoor applications. The product overview identifies specific use cases including air handling economizers, agricultural facilities, and livestock cultivation houses. A removable sintered filter protects the internal polymer capacitance sensor from solid objects in these environments.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series WHT operates within a temperature range of -40 to 140°F (-40 to 60°C) and measures relative humidity from 0 to 100% RH. The compensated temperature range for the RH sensor is specified as -4 to 140°F (-20 to 60°C). Storage temperatures may reach up to 176°F (80°C).
Performance specifications vary by output configuration:
- RH Accuracy: ±2% @ 20 to 80% RH; ±3% @ 10 to 20%, 80 to 90% RH.
- Temperature Accuracy (4-20 mA Output): ±0.9°F @ 72°F (±0.3°C @ 25°C).
- Temperature Accuracy (Passive Thermistor Sensor): ±0.36°F @ 77°F (±0.2°C @ 25°C).
- RH Hysteresis: ±1%.
- RH Repeatability: ±0.1% typical.
- Drift: <1% RH/year.
The response time is 15 s, and the enclosure rating meets NEMA 3S (IP54) standards for protection against wind-blown dust and rain. The device carries CE compliance certification.
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable output signals to accommodate different control system requirements. Models are available with combination relative humidity and temperature outputs or passive sensor options.
- RH Output Options: 4-20 mA, 0-10 VDC, or 0-5 VDC.
- Temperature Sensor/Output Options:
The temperature measurement is available via a solid state band gap sensor with active outputs (matching the RH output type) or as a passive thermistor. The passive option utilizes a 10K @ 25°C thermistor following Dwyer curve A.
- Power Requirements:
Power supply needs depend on the selected output model: 4-20 mA loop powered models require 10-35 VDC. Models with 0-10 V outputs operate on 15-35 VDC or 15-29 VAC, while 0-5 V output models accept 10-35 VDC or 10-29 VAC.
Electrical connections are made via a removable screw terminal block. The housing is constructed from ABS material with overall dimensions of 4-9/16 in [115.89] (height) x 3-31/64 in [88.5] (width) x 2-3/4 in [69.85] (depth).
Key Product Differences
The Series WHT model numbers follow the format WHT - <RH OUTPUT> - <TEMPERATURE>. The second digit of the part number indicates the RH output signal type, while the third character defines the temperature sensor configuration.
- RH Output Codes:
The available codes for relative humidity outputs are -31 (4-20 mA), -32 (0-10 VDC), and -33 (0-5 VDC).
- Temperature Sensor/Output Codes:
The temperature configuration codes include 0 for None, 1 for 4-20 mA output, 2 for 0-10 VDC output, and 3 for 0-5 VDC output. Code A designates the passive 10K Ω type III thermistor option.
