Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series MPR Miniature Pressure Regulators provide high-performance pressure regulation for compressed air and water. The compact, lightweight design supports OEM markets and portable equipment applications including adhesive dispensers, printing presses, medical equipment, spray equipment, analyzers, pumps, compressors, welding machines, and similar industrial uses.

Model MPR1 is a relieving regulator intended for constant flow or downstream pressure relief air applications. Model MPR2 is a non-relieving regulator typically used in water applications where excess downstream pressure does not vent to atmosphere.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series MPR operates within temperature limits of 0 to 150°F (-18 to 60°C). The maximum supply pressure is rated at 250 psig (17.2 bar).

Available measurement ranges include:

  • 0 to 5 psi
  • 0 to 15 psi
  • 0 to 30 psi
  • 0 to 60 psi
  • 0 to 100 psi

The flow capacity is specified as 24 SCFM (48 m³/hr) at a supply of 100 psig (6.9 bar) and an output of 60 psig (4.1 bar). The unit weighs 4 oz (113 g).

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable pressure ranges via specific model numbers, with distinct configurations for air-only versus air/water service.

  • Housing and Adjustment: Features a low torque, non-rising adjustment knob with locking capability to prevent leakage. The housing material is Zinc Alloy (Body) with Acetal Bonnet components.
  • Process Connections: Inlet and outlet utilize Two 1/4" female NPT connections; gauge ports are provided as Two 1/8" female NPT.
  • Wetted Materials: The body is Zinc, the bonnet is Acetal, diaphragm/seals are Nitrile. Internals include Aluminum, brass, acetal, steel, and music wire. Model MPR2 internals are plated with electroless nickel for water use.
  • Accessories: Optional mounting hardware includes Mounting bracket (MPR-B) and Panel mounting nut (MPR-N).

Key Product Differences

The Series MPR distinguishes between two primary model families based on relief behavior and media compatibility.

  • Model MPR1: Self-relieving models designed for compressed air. Excess pressure is vented out of the regulator when downstream pressure exceeds the setting, though relief capacity is limited.
  • Model MPR2: Non-relieving models designed for air/water applications. Downstream pressure above the setting does not relieve to atmosphere; an external means of relieving pressure must be provided if necessary.

Both model families share identical range options (0-5, 0-15, 0-30, 0-60, and 0-100 psi) but differ in internal plating to accommodate water service. The Series MPR is not field serviceable; repair requires return authorization from the factory.
