Series-2000-Magnehelic
Low Differential Pressure Gauge – No Power Needed, IP67
- Easy to read gage through undistorted plastic face
- Patented design provides quick response to pressure changes
- Durable and rugged housing and high-quality components for long service life
- Bezel provides flange for flush mounting in panel.
- Precision litho-printed scale is accurate and easy to read.
- Red tipped pointer of heat treated aluminum tubing is easy to see. It is rigidly mounted on the helix shaft.
- Pointer stops of molded rubber prevent pointer over-travel without damage.
- "Wishbone" assembly provides mounting for helix, helix bearings and pointer shaft.
- Jeweled bearings are shock-resistant mounted; provide virtually friction-free motion for helix. Motion damped with high viscosity silicone fluid.
- Zero adjustment screw is conveniently located in the plastic cover, and is accessible without removing the cover. O-ring seal provides pressure tightness.
- Helix is precision made from an alloy of high magnetic permeability. Mounted in jeweled bearings, it turns freely, following the magnetic field to move the pointer across the scale.
- Calibrated range spring is flat spring steel. Small amplitude of motion assures consistency and long life. It reacts to pressure on diaphragm. Live length adjustable for calibration.
- Silicone rubber diaphragm with integrally molded O-ring is supported by front and rear plates. It is locked and sealed in position with a sealing plate and retaining ring. Diaphragm motion is restricted to prevent damage due to overpressures.
- Die cast aluminum case is precision made and iridite-dipped to withstand 168 hour salt spray corrosion test. Exterior finished in baked dark gray hammerloid. One case size is used for all standard pressure options, and for both surface and flush mounting.
- O-ring seal for cover assures pressure integrity of case.
- Samarium Cobalt magnet mounted at one end of range spring rotates helix without mechanical linkages.

Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series 2000 Magnehelic Differential Pressure Gages indicate positive, negative (vacuum), or differential pressure of air and non-combustible, compatible gases. The series is designed for filter monitoring, blower vacuum monitoring, fan pressure indication, duct/room/building pressures, and clean room positive pressure indication. Models with dual-scale dials are available to measure air velocity when used with a pitot tube.
Service compatibility includes natural gas (option available) and hydrogen applications requiring a Buna-N diaphragm at pressures less than 35 psi. The gages utilize Dwyer's frictionless Magnehelic movement, featuring a samarium cobalt magnet and helix without mechanical linkages to resist shock and vibration.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within an ambient temperature range of 20 to 140°F (-6.67 to 60°C). A low-temperature option extends the lower limit to -20°F (-28°C). The enclosure is rated IP67, and the exterior finish withstands a 168-hour salt spray corrosion test.
Accuracy specifications vary by range:
- ±2% of full scale (FS) throughout the range at 70°F (21.1°C).
- ±3% on -0, -100PA, -125PA, and -10MM ranges.
- ±4% on -00, -60PA, and -6MM ranges.
The High Accuracy (-HA) option improves performance to ±1% of FS (±1.5% on specific low ranges; ±2% on others). Standard gages feature a relief plug that opens at approximately 25 psig (1.7 bar); this protection is not used on models above 180" water pressure, medium/high-pressure options, or non-silicone diaphragm configurations.
Pressure Limits
The series supports the following total pressure limits:
- Standard: -20 in Hg to 15 psig (-0.677 bar to 1.034 bar).
- -MP (Medium Pressure) option: 35 psig (2.41 bar) on one or both sides of the diaphragm.
- -HP (High Pressure) option: 80 psig (5.52 bar) on one or both sides of the diaphragm.
Measurement Ranges
The series offers extensive range options including:
- Inches of water: .05-0-.2 to 0-250 (models 2000-00N through 2250); zero center ranges from 0.125-0-0.125 to 15-0-15.
- PSI: 0-1 to 0-30 (models 2201 to 2230).
- Metric units: MM of water, CM of water, kPa, and Pa ranges available in both positive/negative and zero-center configurations.
Configuration Options
The Series 2000 is configurable across multiple dimensions to meet specific installation needs. The standard housing consists of a die-cast aluminum case and bezel with an acrylic cover; the diaphragm is silicone rubber with an integrally molded O-ring.
Mounting & Housing Options
Gages are available for surface or flush mounting (4-9/16" dia. panel opening required). Mounting accessories include:
- A-286 Panel mounting flange and A-300 Flush mounting bracket.
- A-371 Surface mounting bracket for -MP/-HP models only.
- A-464 / A-464-SS Flush mount kits (stainless steel available).
- A-610 Pipe Mounting Kit for 1½" – 2" pipe installation.
Bezel & Display Options
The bezel is standard die-cast aluminum. Available finishes include:
- -SS: Corrosion resistant brushed 304 stainless steel.
- -CB: Chrome plated aluminum.
- -SB: 304 stainless steel electro polished Ra 16 finished.
Scale overlays are available in Green (-G), Red (-R), or Yellow (-Y) transparent finishes. A mirrored scale overlay (-M) is included with the -HA High Accuracy option to reduce parallax error.
Functional Options & Accessories
- -SP: LED set point indicator (12-24 VDC), includes medium pressure bezel for 4-13/16" flush mounting hole.
- -ASF: Adjustable signal flag integral with the plastic gage cover (not available on MP/HP construction).
- Air Filter Kits: A-605, A-605B, and A-605C include static pressure tips, tubing, vent valves, and mounting hardware.
- Portable Kit: A-432 combines a carrying case with rubber tubing and stand-hang bracket.
Key Product Differences
The series distinguishes between standard pressure models and specialized configurations. Standard gages utilize an acrylic cover, while the -MP option uses clear molded polycarbonate and the -HP option uses clear cast acrylic machined to finish dimensions.
Dual-scale models provide simultaneous readings in English/Metric units (e.g., 0-.25 in w.c. / 0-62 Pa) or air velocity scales for use with pitot tubes (F.P.M.). The -HA High Accuracy variant includes a six-point calibration certificate and mirrored scale overlay.
Process connections are standard as 1/8" female NPT duplicate high and low pressure taps, arranged in one pair on the side and one pair on the back. For applications with high cycle rates within the total pressure rating, selecting the next higher pressure option (MP or HP) is recommended.
