Supported Applications

The Omega iLD Series comprises large-display digital panel meters and controllers designed for universal temperature monitoring, process measurement, strain gage applications, AC current/voltage sensing, frequency/pulse/rate totalization, and remote display via serial or Ethernet inputs. The series supports thermocouple types J, K, T, E, R, S, B, C, N, L (ITS 90) and RTD sensors (100/500/1000 Ω Pt, ITS 68). Configurable models serve as monitors or controllers with optional full PID control for heating or cooling processes.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The iLD Series operates in ambient temperatures from 0 to 40°C (32 to 104°F) at up to 90% RH non-condensing. A warm-up period of 60 minutes is required for UTP, SP, FP, ACC, and ACV models to achieve rated accuracy. Accuracy specifications vary by input model: Universal Temperature/Process (UTP) offers ±0.5°C temperature stability or 0.03% reading process; Strain/Process (SP) provides 0.03% reading accuracy; Frequency/Pulse (FP) achieves ±0.1% of FS with crystal time-based accuracy of ±50 ppm; AC Current (ACC) and AC Voltage (ACV) models specify ±0.2% of FS at 25°C within their respective frequency ranges.

Response times are documented as a step response of 0.7 sec for 99.9% final value on UTP and SP inputs, while ACC and ACV models respond in 2 s to 99% (filter time constant = 64). FP models with RS485 output achieve 0.1 s to 99%. The display updates at a reading rate of 3 samples per second.

Configuration Options

The series is available in two digit sizes: 57 mm (2.25") or 101 mm (4"), with either 4-digit or 6-digit displays depending on the model code. The enclosure provides NEMA 4 (IP65) protection for the entire unit, including a front bezel rated NEMA 4 (IP65). Mounting options include flush panel installation using specified cutouts or surface mounting via included brackets.

Input configurations cover:

  • UTP: Universal temperature and process inputs supporting thermocouples, RTDs, voltage (0 to 100 mV, 0 to 1 V, 0 to 10 Vdc), and current (0 to 20 mA).
  • SP: Strain gage and process inputs with analog voltage (-100 mVdc to 1 Vdc) and current capabilities.
  • ACC/ACV: Dedicated AC current ranges (10 mA, 100 mA, 1 A, 5 A) and AC voltage ranges (400 mV, 4 V, 40 V, 400 V).
  • FP: Frequency/pulse inputs from 0.2 Hz to 50 KHz with totalize modes including reset, A-B totalize, and quadrature.

Communication options include isolated RS232/RS485/422 (standard on FP, ACC, ACV; optional via -C24 or -EI suffixes) and Ethernet with embedded web server (-C4EI). The series supports IEEE 802.3, 10 Base-T standards for network models.

Key Product Differences

The iLD Series differentiates primarily by input type (UTP, SP, FP, ACC, ACV) and display configuration (digit size and count). Control outputs are available only on UTP and SP models via the -33 option, providing 2 relays form C SPDT rated at 3 A @ 120/240 Vac. Factory scaling (-FS) is offered for specific input ranges such as converting a 4-20 mA signal to a scaled display value.

Model codes indicate digit size and count: "iLD2" denotes the 57 mm (2.25") display, while "iLD4" indicates the 101 mm (4") display; the following number specifies digits (e.g., iLD24 is a 4-digit unit). Remote display models (-C2 and -EI) accept serial or Ethernet inputs to drive the large LED panel without local sensor connections.
