Supported Applications

The Series DA-7035N Temperature Switch provides on/off control and alarm signaling for compatible liquids or gases across a broad span of process temperatures. It uses a bulb-and-capillary sensing element with an inert gas fill, and shares the same time-proven switching mechanism used in the Series DA pressure switches. The Bourdon tube movement gives the switch high sensitivity and long operating life.

Typical uses include process temperature limiting, equipment protection, and control loops where a mechanical bulb sensor must be located away from the switch enclosure. External knobs allow the set point and reset point to be adjusted without opening the housing, making the switch well suited to installations that require frequent field adjustment.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The switch is offered in nine temperature ranges spanning -60 to 30°F (-50 to 0°C) at the low end through 100 to 500°F (40 to 260°C) at the high end. Repeatability is ±1% FS, and the ambient temperature limit is 180°F (82°C). The process pressure limit is 300 psi (20.6 bar).

The bulb and its connection are constructed of 304 SS. Capillary tubing is supplied at a standard length of 6' (1.8 m); ranges 1N to 7N and 10N use copper capillary, while ranges 8N, 9N, and 11N use 304 SS capillary. Deadband is adjustable from the minimum listed for each range up to the full range, with an optional low fixed deadband available.

The standard output is an SPDT snap switch, with an optional DPDT snap switch and a variety of mercury switches available. The electrical rating is 10 A @ 120/240/480 VAC, wired through screw terminals. The conduit connection is a 7/8" (22.23 mm) hole for a 1/2" (12.7 mm) conduit hub, and the process connection is 3/4" male NPT, with other sizes available. The general purpose enclosure is standard, with optional weatherproof and explosion-proof enclosures.

Configuration Options

All variants share the DA-7035-153 base with an SPDT snap switch; they differ by the temperature range they cover, along with the associated maximum process temperature, minimum deadband, and minimum bulb insertion depth.

Lower ranges provide tighter minimum deadband values, while higher ranges require wider minimum deadband. Most ranges use a minimum insertion depth of 2-7/8" (73 mm), except the highest range covered by the 9N variant, which requires 4-7/8" (124 mm). Range selection also determines capillary material, with the higher ranges (8N, 9N, and 11N) using 304 SS capillary in place of copper.
