Supported Applications

The Omega OME-ET-7000 and OME-PET-7000 series are web-enabled Ethernet I/O modules designed for data acquisition, remote configuration, monitoring, and control via a standard browser. These modules support Modbus/TCP and UDP protocols for integration with SCADA systems. Documented application areas include building automation, factory automation, machine automation, remote maintenance, and testing equipment.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within an ambient temperature range of -25 to 75°C (-13 to 167°F) with a storage temperature rating of -30 to 80°C (-22 to 176°F). Humidity tolerance is specified as 10 to 90% RH, non-condensing. Analog input accuracy varies by mode: ±0.1% in Normal Mode and ±0.5% or better in Fast Mode. Resolution options include 16-bit and 12-bit depending on the model configuration.

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) specifications per IEC standards are documented as follows:

  • ESD (IEC 61000-4-2): 4 kV contact for each terminal and 8 kV air for random point.
  • EFT (IEC 61000-4-4): ±4 kV for power.
  • Surge (IEC 61000-4-5): ±4 kV for power.

The modules feature a dual watchdog system with a module watchdog of 0.8 seconds and a programmable communication watchdog. Security features include ID, password protection, and IP filtering.

Configuration Options

The series offers extensive I/O configurations across analog input (AI), digital input/counter (DI), analog output (AO), and digital output (DO) models. Power options distinguish the two primary families: OME-ET-7000 modules require 10 to 30 Vdc or 12 to 48 Vdc depending on the model, while OME-PET-7000 modules support IEEE 802.3af Class 1 Power over Ethernet (PoE) in addition to terminal block power.

Key configurable capabilities include:

  • Analog Inputs: Supports Thermocouple types J, K, T, E, R, S, B, N, C, L, M, and LDIN43710; RTD sensors Pt100, Pt1000, Ni120, Cu100, Cu1000; Voltage ranges including ±15 mV to ±10 V; Current ranges 0 to 20 mA and 4 to 20 mA.
  • Digital I/O: Configurations range from 6 to 16 channels. Digital outputs include Open Collector (Sink/Source) with load currents up to 700mA total or per-channel limits of 100 mA, 300 mA, and 650 mA depending on the model.
  • Relay Outputs: Models OME-ET/PET-7060 and -7067 provide Power Relay outputs (Form A, SPST N.O.) with a maximum load current of 5.0 A/channel.
  • Analog Outputs: Available on multifunction models (e.g., OME-ET/PET-7026) supporting voltage ranges 0 to 5 V, ±5 V, 0 to 10 V, ±10 V and current outputs 0 to 20 mA, 4 to 20 mA.
  • Communication: All models feature a 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet port with Auto MDI/MDI-X. The OME-PET-7000 series includes PoE capability (IEEE 802.3af).

Physical dimensions are 72 x 123 x 35 mm (2.8 x 4.8 x 1.4 in). Installation options include DIN-rail or wall mounting.

Key Product Differences

The series is divided into two primary power families: OME-ET-7000 and OME-PET-7000. The OME-PET models support Power over Ethernet (PoE), whereas the OME-ET models rely on external DC power via terminal block.

  • Analog Input Models: Includes RTD-only configurations (e.g., -7015) and mixed-sensor modules supporting Thermocouple, Voltage, and Current inputs with varying channel counts (3 to 20 channels). Specific models OME-ET/PET-7018Z and -7019Z are noted for extremely accurate thermocouple measurement.
  • Multifunction I/O: Models such as the -7026 combine analog inputs, analog outputs (voltage/current), digital inputs/counter, and open collector outputs in a single unit.
  • Digital I/O Modules: Dedicated models range from 8 to 16 channels of Digital Input or Output. Variants include Open Collector Sink (-7042, -7050) and Source configurations (-7052), as well as Dry contact inputs (-7053).
  • Relay Output Models: The -7060 model provides 6 channels of Power Relay output with Digital Input capability. The -7067 offers 8 channels of Power Relay output without digital input.

Accessories include the RAIL-35-1 DIN rail, iDRN-PS-1000 power supply (95 to 240 Vac input), and OM-ESW-105/OM-ESW-105-POE Ethernet switches.
