Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series DDB/DDD delivers torque outputs ranging from 88 to 265 in-lb (10 to 30 Nm). Response times vary by model size: 66 sec for 88 in-lb, 90 sec for 132 in-lb, 110 sec for 177 in-lb, and 143 sec for 265 in-lb. The actuators operate within an ambient temperature range of -22 to 122°F (-30 to 50°C) and feature a nominal life expectancy of 60,000 cycles.

Enclosure protection is rated NEMA 2 (IP42). Electrical connections utilize a terminal block compatible with 18 AWG wire. The DDD series provides an accuracy of ±5% for position control applications.

The series is configured across two primary families with distinct control signal and power supply requirements.

DDB Series (Floating Control)

Control Signal: Two-position or floating input.
Power Supply: 110 VAC, 24 VAC, ±10%, 50/60 Hz, single phase. Optional 230 VAC available.
Models: DDB51, DDB53, DDB61, DDB71, DDB73, DDB81, DDB83 covering torque ranges from 88 to 265 in-lb.

DDD Series (Modulating Control)

Control Signal: Accepts 4-20 mA or 0-10 VDC modulating control signals.
Feedback: Includes a 0 to 10 VDC feedback signal of damper position.
Power Supply: 24 VAC, ±10%, 50/60 Hz, single phase.
Models: DDD53, DDD63, DDD73 covering torque ranges from 88 to 177 in-lb (with additional variants available).

The primary distinction between the series lies in their control logic and power architecture. The DDB models are designed for floating or two-position signals, whereas the DDD models support modulating 4-20 mA or 0-10 VDC inputs with integrated position feedback.

DDB models weigh 2.87 lb (1.3 kg) for the lower torque sizes and 3.68 lb (1.67 kg) for higher torque sizes. DDD models weigh 2.98 lb (1.35 kg) and 3.79 lb (1.72 kg) respectively. Standard accessories include two imitative baffles, two baffle setscrews, and one setting bracket. Optional internal auxiliary switches are available for the DDB series upon contacting the factory.
