Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series CBT Clip-On Bimetal Thermometer is designed to monitor the temperatures of products while they are cooking in pots, kettles, or other food preparation equipment. The instrument features an adjustable clip for easy mounting and a reference pointer that allows for adjustable set point indication.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within ambient temperature limits of 15 to 300°F (-10 to 150°C). Measurement accuracy is specified as ±1% with a resolution of 2°. The wetted materials are constructed from 304 SS, and the housing material is Series 300 SS. A glass lens protects the dial face.

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable dimensions across three primary dial sizes: 1-3/4", 2", and 3". Stem lengths are available in 5" or 8" configurations depending on the model selection. The measurement ranges cover various temperature spans to accommodate different cooking processes:

  • -40 to 160°F
  • 0 to 250°F
  • 50 to 300°F
  • 50 to 500°F
  • -10 to 110°C
  • 0 to 250°C (available on select models)

Dual scale units are available by changing the last digit of the model number to D. For example, CBT17504D provides dual-scale capability.

Model Number Structure

The series follows a specific naming convention: CBT - <Dial Size> - <Stem Length> - <Range>. An example model is CBT175041.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the Series CBT are distinguished by dial size, stem length, and temperature range. Models with a 1-3/4" dial (e.g., CBT17xxx) differ from those with 2" dials (CBT25xxx/CBT28xxx) or 3" dials (CBT38xxx). Stem lengths vary between 5" and 8", influencing the insertion depth into cooking vessels. The series includes both Fahrenheit-only ranges and Celsius options, as well as dual-scale configurations indicated by a 'D' suffix in the model number.
