Supported Applications
The Omega HH501DK Series is a portable, compact-sized digital thermometer designed to use external K-type thermocouples as temperature sensors. The instrument provides temperature indication following Reference Temperature/Voltage Tables (N.I.S.T. Monograph 175 Revised to ITS-90) for K-type thermocouples.
Applications are limited by specific safety warnings: the device is not designed for use in, and should not be used for, patient-connected applications. Additionally, temperature measurements must not be made inside microwave ovens to avoid damage or burns.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The HH501DK Series operates within an ambient range of 0°C to 50°C (32°F to 122°F) at less than 80% R.H. Storage is supported from -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F) at less than 70% R.H.
Measurement capabilities cover a range of -50°C to 1300°C (-58°F to 2000°F). Accuracy specifications, valid for operating temperatures between 18°C and 28°C (64°F to 82°F) over one year and excluding thermocouple error, are:
- ±(0.3% rdg + 1°C) from -50°C to 1000°C
- ±(0.5% rdg + 1°C) from 1000°C to 1300°C
- ±(0.3% rdg + 2°F) from -58°F to 2000°F
The temperature coefficient is specified as 0.1 times the applicable accuracy specification per °C outside the standard operating range (from 0°C to 18°C and 28°C to 50°C). The display updates at a rate of 2.5 times per second.
Input Protection
The instrument accepts a maximum input voltage of 24V dc or 24V ac rms on any combination of input pins. Exceeding these voltages may result in electrical shock; users must not use the instrument when measurement surface voltages exceed this limit.
Configuration Options
The series is configured as a single portable unit with the following documented capabilities:
- Sensor Input: Accepts standard miniature thermocouple connectors (flat blades spaced 7.9mm, center to center) for K-type sensors.
- Display & Resolution: Features a 3½ digit liquid crystal display (LCD) with a maximum reading of 1999. User-selectable resolution options include 1°C or 0.1°C and 1°F or 0.1°F.
- Pow er Supply: Operates on a standard 9V battery, providing approximately 200 hours typical life with a carbon zinc battery.
- Housing & Dimensions: The unit measures 192mm(H) x 91mm(W) x 52.5mm(D) and weighs 365g.
The temperature scale is user-selectable between Celsius or Fahrenheit.
Key Product Differences
The HH501DK Series is identified by the model number guide "HH501DK". The series supports ISO 9001 certification in the USA and ISO 9002 certification in the United Kingdom. No alternative housings, process connections, or wetted materials are documented for this portable meter configuration.
