Supported Applications

The Series BV2M 2-Piece Stainless Steel Ball Valve is an economical choice for high-quality stainless steel ball valves used in chemical, petrochemical, pulp and paper, and general applications. Its investment-cast stainless steel body and end caps provide excellent corrosion resistance, while the 15% glass reinforced PTFE seats and body seals deliver broad media compatibility and bubble-tight shutoff.

The full-port, two-piece construction and female NPT end connections make the valve a practical isolation or on/off device wherever aggressive process media must be handled reliably. Before installation, confirm that the process media is compatible with the valve materials, and do not exceed the pressure or temperature maximum ratings.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The valve is rated for 1000 psi (69 bar) WOG and 150 psi (10.3 bar) SWP, with a temperature range of -29 to 232°C. End connections are Female NPT in line sizes from 1/4" to 3".

Body, ball, and end cap: CF8M SS.
Stem: 316 SS.
Seat and thrust washer: RTFE; end gasket: RTFE; stem packing: PTFE.
Flow coefficient (Cv): from 8 on the smallest body up to 360 on the largest.

The Series BV2M is a non-repairable valve; the only maintenance required is the occasional tightening of the packing gland nut. If leakage occurs through the stem orifice over time, tighten the packing gland nut approximately 1/4 turn. The valve meets the technical requirements of EU Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS II).

Configuration Options

All models share the same materials, pressure and temperature ratings, and female NPT connection style; they differ by line size and the flow and mounting characteristics that follow from it.

Line size ranges from 1/4" NPT to 3" NPT, letting the same valve family serve small instrument lines through larger process piping.
Flow capacity scales with size, with the Cv increasing from 8 on the 1/4" body to 360 on the 3" body.
Mounting pattern uses (2) 3/16-24 UNC threads on the smaller bodies and (2) 1/4-20 UNC threads on the larger bodies.
