The Omega FP1400 Series consists of digital plastic paddlewheel flow meters designed to measure fluid flow rate and total volume. These units are configured for use with liquids up to 50 cSt viscosity, including water, oil, chemicals, and clean liquids. The series supports applications requiring user-programmable alarms, two independently programmable flow totalizers, and RS232/RS485 communications.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The FP1400 Series operates with a process temperature of 60°C (140°F) and an ambient operating temperature range of -10 to 60°C (14 to 140°F). The maximum pressure rating is 10 bar (150 psig), with flow ranges available from 0.5 to 35 GPM depending on the specific model configuration.
Performance specifications include a flow accuracy of ±1% of FS and repeatability of ±0.25% of FS. When equipped with an optional RTD temperature sensor, temperature accuracy is specified as ±0.5°C including linearity. The response time is approximately 1 second above 10% of full scale flow and approximately 2 seconds below 10% of full scale flow.

Sensor & Wetted Materials
Polypropylene models feature a polypropylene body with an acrylic lid, PVDF paddlewheel, nickel tungsten carbide shaft, sapphire jewel bearings, and EPDM O-rings. The RTD sensor in these units utilizes a 316 SS casing.
PVDF models utilize a PVDF body and lid, PVDF paddle wheel, zirconia ceramic shaft, sapphire jewel bearings, PTFE O-rings, and an RTD with a 316 SS casing. All electrical connections are made via a built-in female 12-pin M16 connector rated NEMA 4X (IP67).
Key Product Differences
The FP1400 Series distinguishes between Polypropylene and PVDF construction materials, which dictate the specific wetted parts composition. Model numbers follow a pattern indicating material type and port size; for example, models starting with "FP140" denote Polypropylene bodies (e.g., FP1402, FP1404), while those starting with "FP141" indicate PVDF construction (e.g., FP1412, FP1414).
Each base model is available in two configurations: a standard version and an RTD-equipped version. The suffix "-RTD" identifies units equipped with the optional temperature sensor. Port sizes range from 1/8 NPT to 1 NPT, correlating directly to specific flow ranges such as 0.5 to 5 GPM for 1/8 inch ports up to 3.5 to 35 GPM for 1-inch ports.
Accessories include the DPF701 (a 1/8 DIN digital display powered by 115 Vac or 7.5 to 13 Vdc) and the FP1400-CABLE, a 2 m (6') cable with a 12-pin connector.
