Supported Applications

The Omega TXUN-FD is a field-mounted HART temperature transmitter designed for RTD, TC (thermocouple), Ohm, and bipolar mV inputs. The series supports general purpose installations as well as hazardous area applications with Ex d explosion-proof / flameproof ratings in aluminum or 316 stainless steel housings.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The transmitter operates within an ambient temperature range of -40°C to +85°C when equipped with a silicone O-ring, and -20°C to +85°C with an FKM rubber O-ring. Storage temperature is rated from -40°C to +85°C. The device functions in relative humidity conditions of 0...100% RH (condensing). Environmental protection ratings include IP54 / IP66 / IP68 and type 4X.

Performance specifications feature a display resolution of 96 x 64 pixels with a response time from button to display of < 150 ms. The mechanical design accommodates vibration per IEC 60068-2-6, specifically ±1.6 mm at 2...25 Hz and ±4 g at 25...100 Hz.

Configuration Options

The TXUN-FD series is configurable across housing materials, local operator interface options, conduit threads, and approval levels. Housing and Materials

  • Low copper aluminum (AL): Available with Epoxy or Epoxy + polyurethane paint.
  • 316 Stainless steel (RF): Paint type is None; suitable for corrosive environments.

Local Operator Interface and Display

  • Configurable with or without a local operator interface (LOI).
  • The LOI features 5 digits, selectable white or red backlight, and error indication in the same colors.
  • Cover color options include Red, Gray, or Steel finish depending on housing type.

Connections and Seals

  • O-ring materials: Silicone rubber (-40 to +85°C) or FKM rubber (-20 to +85°C).
  • Conduit threads (D1, D2 & D3): M20x1.5 6H or ½ NPT mod.

Key Product Differences

Variants differ primarily by housing material (aluminum vs. 316 stainless steel), the presence of a local operator interface, O-ring type determining temperature range, and conduit thread style. The aluminum version is offered with red or gray cover colors, while the stainless steel version features a steel finish.

Models without a transmitter unit are supplied as connection kits (indicated by "No" in the Transmitter column of the order guide).
