The Omega M12M Series consists of thermocouple probes featuring molded M12 connectors, designed for temperature measurement in industrial and process environments. These integral connector sensors provide a direct interface for data acquisition systems requiring robust electrical connections.

  • Type J (Iron-Constantan) calibrations with 304 Stainless Steel sheaths
  • Type K (Chromel-Alumel) calibrations with Inconel 600 sheaths

Operating Conditions & Performance

The M12M Series operates within a connector temperature range of -50 to 90°C (-58 to 194°F). The probes feature an IP67 enclosure rating for the molded connection. Junctions are ungrounded, and the series supports both single and dual element configurations.

Configuration Options

The series offers extensive configuration options across sheath materials, diameters, and lengths. Model numbers follow the format M12M<Thermocouple Type><Sheath Material><Diameter Code><Length Code>-U-<Length>. Standard configurations include imperial sizes (inches) and metric sizes (millimeters).

Dimensions and Sheaths

  • Type J: 304 Stainless Steel sheath available in 1/8" (3 mm) or 1/4" (6 mm) diameters.
  • Type K: Inconel 600 sheath available in 1/8" (3 mm) or 1/4" (6 mm) diameters.

Lengths and Configurations

  • Standard Imperial Lengths: 6", 9", 12", 18", 24". Custom lengths are available with additional cost per inch for both sheath materials.
  • Metric Lengths: 250 mm, 500 mm, 1000 mm, 1500 mm. Custom metric lengths incur an additional cost per 25mm increment.
  • Dual Element: Add "-DUAL" to the model number for dual element configurations at an additional cost.

Electrical Connection

  • Molded M12 4-pin connector integrated into the probe housing.
  • Extension cables (e.g., M12C-SIL-K-S-F-1.5) are available separately from Omega.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the series differ primarily by thermocouple calibration, sheath material composition, and dimensional specifications. Type J models utilize 304 Stainless Steel (SST), while Type K models use Inconel 600. Diameter codes in model numbers distinguish between imperial sizes (18 for 1/8", 14 for 1/4") and metric sizes (M3 for 3 mm, M6 for 6 mm). The "-U" designation indicates an ungrounded junction.
