Supported Applications

The Omega SSRDIN series comprises single- and three-phase DIN rail mount solid state relays (SSRs) designed for industrial switching of AC loads. These normally open, solid-state devices provide zero voltage isolation between load terminals and control signals. Documented applications include mercury relay replacement, food-service equipment, sterilizers, temperature control systems, plastic extrusion/thermoforming machinery, HVAC and R, kilns, packaging equipment, sorting equipment, wave solder and reflow systems, lighting systems, pump controls, incubators, motor-switching, and UPS systems.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The SSRDIN series operates within an ambient temperature range of -20 to 80°C (-4 to 176°F) with a storage temperature rating of -40 to 100 °C (-40 to 212°F). The units feature IP20 touch-safe housings constructed from UL 94V-0 self-extinguishing material. Electrical isolation is provided by 4000 Vac optical isolation, and the design includes internal TVS transient protection.

Performance specifications vary by model size (22.5 mm, 45 mm, or 90 mm) and output type:

  • Voltage Range: Models support line voltages from 24 to 600 Vac for single-phase units.
  • Output Current: Ratings range up to 30 A (22.5 mm), 45 A (45 mm), or 25 A for three-phase models.
  • Surge Capability: Maximum 1-cycle surge currents reach up to 750 Ap, and maximum 1 s surge currents reach up to 160 Ap depending on the voltage range and size.
  • Leakage Current: Off-state leakage is specified as low as 100 µArms at max line voltage (Ta = 25°C) for lower current models, increasing to 250 µArms for higher capacity units.

The series utilizes DBC substrates and integral heat sinks for thermal management. A small leakage current exists when contacts are open, and the normal failure mode on overloaded circuits is closed contacts (ON-STATE).

Configuration Options

The SSRDIN series offers configurable dimensions across three mechanical sizes to accommodate different load requirements:

  • 22.5 mm Width: Supports output currents up to 30 A with a depth of 89.84 mm (3.537 in) and height of 120.75 mm (4.754 in).
  • 45 mm Width: Supports output currents up to 45 A with a depth of 89.14 mm (3.470 in) and height of 120.66 mm (4.750 in).
  • 90 mm Width: Designed for three-phase applications, supporting up to 25 A with a depth of 88.14 mm (3.470 in) and height of 123.40 mm (4.858 in).

Input Control Options:

  • DC Input: Accepts control voltages from 4 to 32 Vdc.
  • AC Input: Accepts control voltages in ranges of 90 to 140 Vac or 180 to 280 Vac.

Mechanical & Electrical Features:

Key Product Differences

The series distinguishes models by output current capacity, input voltage type (AC or DC), line voltage range, and phase configuration. The SSRDIN family includes single-phase units available in Triac or SCR output types depending on the specific model number.

  • Single-Phase Models: Designated as SSRDIN followed by current rating and input type (e.g., SSRDIN600DC25, SSRDIN600AC30). These cover line voltages from 24 to 600 Vac.
  • Three-Phase Models: Designated as SSR3PH followed by voltage and input type (e.g., SSR3PH600DC25, SSR3PH600AC25). These are housed in the larger 90 mm enclosure and support line voltages from 48 to 600 Vac.

Input dropout voltage varies by control type: 1 Vdc for DC inputs, and 10 Vac for AC inputs. Turn-on times range from 8.33 ms (DC input) to 20 ms or 30 ms depending on the specific AC input configuration.
