- Small-scale piping freeze protection
- Process temperature maintenance
- Plastic sheet bending
Operating Conditions & Performance
The HTWC Series features an extruded silicone rubber outer sheath that provides moisture and chemical resistance. The heating element consists of fine-gage stranded resistance wires insulated with fiberglass yarn, completely enclosed within the silicone rubber extrusion.
Key performance parameters include:
- Max Exposure Temperature: 232 °C (450 °F)
- Nominal Watts per square inch: 0.009 (6.0) for HTWT101 Series; 72 watts/lineal foot for HTWC100 Series
- Width: 25.4 mm (1 in)
Safety and Installation Notes
The heating tape must not be folded or rolled while heated. When used on a table top, the surface area where the tape is placed must be constructed of fireproof materials such as cement board to prevent burning wood or composition materials.
Configuration Options
The series offers two primary configurations: heating tapes with an integral percentage controller (HTWC100 Series) and models with a built-in thermostat set at 16 °C (60 °F) (HTWT101/HTWT102 Series). Both are available in multiple lengths to accommodate specific installation needs.
Electrical Specifications
- Voltage: 120 Vac or 240 Vac
- Power Cord Configuration: • 120 V models: 72 in cable with a 2-prong plug (HTWC series) or 1.8 m (6 ft) cord with plug. • 240 V models: 71 in cable with stripped lead wires and no plug.
Available Sizes
The HTWC Series is available in lengths ranging from 2 feet to 10 feet, corresponding to wattages between 144 W and 720 W depending on the voltage selection. The standard width for all models is 1" (25.4 mm).
Key Product Differences
The HTWC Series distinguishes itself from the related HTWT series through its control mechanism. While both share similar construction and environmental resistance, the HTWC100/HTWC101 models incorporate a rugged percentage controller for precise temperature regulation.
- HTWC101 Models: 120 V operation with integral percentage controller; available in lengths from 2' to 10'. • HTWC101-002: 144 W, 1" x 2' • HTWC101-004: 288 W, 1" x 4' • HTWC101-006: 432 W, 1" x 6' • HTWC101-008: 576 W, 1" x 8' • HTWC101-010: 720 W, 1" x 10'
- HTWC102 Models: 240 V operation with integral percentage controller; available in lengths from 2' to 10'. • HTWC102-002: 144 W, 1" x 2' • HTWC102-004: 288 W, 1" x 4' • HTWC102-006: 432 W, 1" x 6' • HTWC102-008: 576 W, 1" x 8' • HTWC102-010: 720 W, 1" x 10'
In contrast, the HTWT series (HTWT101/HTWT102) utilizes a fixed thermostat set at 16 °C (60 °F).
