Supported Applications
The Omega FL-3000/3100 Series consists of variable area flow meters designed for select corrosive or ultra-pure media. These instruments feature PTFE valves and wetted parts constructed from materials compatible with aggressive chemical environments.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates at a process temperature up to 66°C (150°F) with a pressure rating of 6.7 bar (100 psig). Accuracy is specified as ±2% full scale for most models, while FL-3007SA and FL-3145SA offer an accuracy class of ±5% full scale. Repeatability is rated at ±0.25% FS.
Measurement ranges vary by model number:
- Air: 8.30 cc/min to 28,326 cc/min
- Water: 0.251 cc/min to 798 cc/min (for the FL-3063SA)
Note that minimum flow rate is defined as 10% of the maximum rate shown for each model.
Configuration Options
The series supports two scale lengths, 65 mm and 150 mm, with corresponding dimensional envelopes. Models are available in single or multi-tube configurations (Tube 1 through Tube 4), where overall width ranges from 31.75 mm (1.25 in) to 107.95 mm (4.25 in).
Wetted materials include PTFE needle valves, PEEK, borosilicate glass, sapphire, and Perfluorodastomer O-rings.
Configurable Options
- NIST Calibration: Add suffix “-NIST AIR” or “-NIST WATER” to the model number for additional cost.
- Oxygen Cleaning: Available by adding suffix “-02CLEAN” to the model number.
- Tripod Bases: Optional tripods (FLTR-1, FLTR-2, FLTR-3) support 1, 2, or 3 variable area flow meters respectively.
Process Connections
The standard process connection is ¼ FNPT. Alternative connections include glass hose nipples (FLV-2) and ¼" TFE compression fittings (FVLT104-SS).
Key Product Differences
Model numbers follow the format FL-<SCALE_LENGTH>SA - <MODEL_NUMBER_SUFFIX>, such as FL-3051SA. The series distinguishes between 65 mm and 150 mm scale lengths, which dictate overall height (156.4 mm / 6.16 in vs. 265.7 mm / 10.46 in) and center-to-center spacing.
Specific flow ranges are tied to individual model numbers; for example, FL-3007SA covers the lowest air range starting at 8.30 cc/min, while FL-3063SA reaches up to 28,326 cc/min (Air). The FL-3145SA and FL-3007SA models are explicitly noted with a ±5% full scale accuracy class.
