Supported Applications

The Omega FP-5060 Series Micro-Flow Sensors are designed for measuring low flow rates in clean fluids. These sensors generate pulses proportional to flow volume and are suitable for applications requiring precise flow monitoring of clean process liquids, regardless of fluid color.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within a process temperature range of 0 to 80 °C (32 to 176 °F) with a maximum pressure rating of 5.5 bar (80 psi). Accuracy is specified as ±1% of full range, and repeatability is 0.5% of full range.

Measurement ranges vary by model:

  • FP-5061 and FP-5062: 0.11 to 2.6 lpm (0.03 to 0.7 gpm)
  • FP-5063: 1.13 to 12.11 lpm (0.3 to 3.2 gpm)

The sensors are suitable for clean fluids only; suspended solids will cause mechanical failure.

Configuration Options

The FP-5060 Series offers configurable process connections and flow ranges across three primary models:

  • Process Connections: ¼ in. NPT (male) or ISO 7/1 - R¼ (male)
  • Housing Material: Polyphenylene sulfide
  • Wetted Materials:
    • Sensor body and cover: 40% glass filled Polyphenylene Sulfide
    • Rotor: PEEK, natural, unfilled
    • O-rings (Rotor and Cover): Viton® / FKM
  • Output Signal: Open-collector NPN transistor, 10 mA max sink
  • Power Supply: 5 to 24 VDC, regulated @ 10 mA maximum
  • Cable Length: 7.5 m (25')
  • Electrical Connection: 2-conductor twisted pair w/shield (Belden 8451)

The series supports horizontal surface mount installation within ±30° for optimum performance; vertical mounting is not recommended. Accessories include the DPF701 rate or total panel meter.

Pulse output rates differ by model, with FP-5061 and FP-5062 generating 9950 pulses per U.S. gallon (2629 pulses per liter), while the higher-flow FP-5063 generates 3160 pulses per U.S. gallon (834.9 pulses per liter).
