Supported Applications

The Omega RIN Series consists of screw plug immersion heaters designed for small tanks. These units feature dual pipe thread construction to facilitate easy installation and quick electrical conduit connection.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates on 120 or 240V, 1 phase power supplies with wattage ratings ranging from 100 to 1000 Watts. Watt density varies by model and configuration, spanning 17 to 40 W/in² as detailed in the specification table.

Sheath diameters are available in ½" or ¾", corresponding to process connections of ½ NPT or ¾ NPT screw plugs. Overall dimensions (B) range from 1¼" to 13¾", while dimension C ranges from ½" to ¾" depending on the specific model and wattage.

Configuration Options

The RIN Series is offered in two primary configurations distinguished by sheath material, fitting type, and resulting watt density:

  • Type RIN: Features a premium grade Incoloy® sheath with ½ or ¾" diameter. These models utilize brass screw plugs (½ or ¾ NPT) and typically operate at higher watt densities ranging from 25 to 40 W/in².
  • Type RINO: Features a stainless steel sheath with ½ or ¾" diameter. These models utilize steel screw plugs (½ or ¾ NPT) and are configured for lower watt densities, typically between 17 and 25 W/in².

All units include dual pipe thread construction for electrical connection. The series is manufactured in the USA and carries SF® certification.

Key Product Differences

The primary distinction within the RIN-HEATER series lies between the Type RIN (Incoloy/Brass) and Type RINO (Stainless Steel/Steel) families. While both share identical voltage options (120V or 240V, 1 phase) and NPT thread sizes (½" or ¾"), they differ in material composition and thermal loading capacity.

Model numbers follow the format RIN-/ for Incoloy units and RINO-/ for stainless steel units. For example, a 100 Watt unit at 120V is designated as RIN-10/120 (Incoloy), while comparable wattages in the stainless line follow the RINO prefix with corresponding dimension and density adjustments.
