Supported Applications

The Series 490A is a versatile, hand-held, battery-operated Hydronic Differential Pressure Manometer for positive or positive differential pressure measurement. It can tolerate most liquid media compatible with 316LSS, making it well suited to balancing, measuring and pressure testing hydronic systems. A memory function stores up to 40 readings for later recall, and a backlight provides auxiliary lighting for hard-to-see locations.

The manometer is CE compliant and reads out on a 0.42" (10.7 mm) 4-digit LCD. Do not exceed the maximum rated pressure of the manometer, as doing so will cause permanent damage to the sensor, may rupture the housing, and/or cause personal injury.

Operating Conditions & Performance

Accuracy is ±0.5% FS from 60 to 78°F (15.6 to 25.6°C) and ±1.5% FS from 32 to 60°F and 78 to 104°F. Pressure hysteresis is ±0.1% FS.

• Power: 9 V alkaline battery, installed non-functional and user replaceable.

Standard process connections are two 1/8" (3.18 mm) female NPT, with wetted materials of 316 SS. The -HKIT option instead uses two 1/4" male 45° flare fittings with 316LSS, PTFE, brass and copper wetted parts, and an optional 3-Way Valve is also available.

Configuration Options

Models differ by pressure range and maximum pressure, so the same handheld platform covers everything from low-pressure balancing up to high-pressure testing.

• 490A-1 — 0 to 15 psi; maximum 30 psi.
• 490A-2 — 0 to 30 psi; maximum 60 psi.
• 490A-3 — 0 to 50 psi; maximum 100 psi.
• 490A-4 — 0 to 100 psi; maximum 200 psi.
• 490A-6 — 0 to 200 psi; maximum 400 psi.
• 490A-5 — 0 to 500 psi; maximum 1000 psi.

Any range can be ordered as a complete hydronic kit by adding the -HKIT suffix (for example 490A-1-HKIT), which packages the manometer with all attachments needed for balancing, measuring and pressure testing.

The base model number is 490A-<range>, and the hydronic kit is 490A-<range>-HKIT. The range lineup is:
