Supported Applications

The Omega TQ202/TQM202 Series consists of small, high-accuracy flange- or surface-mount devices designed for measuring reaction torque forces. These sensors are engineered to ensure long life in industrial environments and maintain long-term accuracy through all stainless steel construction.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series delivers an output signal of 2 mV/V with a combined linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability accuracy of ±0.2% FSO. The compensated temperature range is specified as 16 to 71°C (60 to 160°F), while the operating ambient temperature extends from -54 to 107°C (-65 to 225°F). Thermal effects are rated at 0.005% FSO/°F for zero and 0.005% rdg/°F for span.

Electrical specifications include an excitation voltage of 10 Vdc with a maximum of 15V, an input resistance minimum of 360 Ω, and an output resistance of 350 ±5 Ω. The sensors feature IP65 protection class ratings and are supplied complete with a 5-point calibration.

Overload capabilities are defined as follows:

  • Safe Overload: 150% of capacity
  • Ultimate Overload: 300% of capacity

Configuration Options

The TQ202/TQM202 Series is available in multiple measurement ranges to accommodate specific torque requirements. The series supports both inch-pound and metric configurations, with model numbers indicating the range capability.

  • Inch-Pound Ranges: 0 to 25 oz-inch through 0 to 250 inch-lb
  • Metric Ranges (TQM202): 0 to 0.175 N-m through 0 to 28 N-m

The physical design features a flange-to-shaft mount configuration with the following dimensions:

  • Diameter: 38.1 (1.5) DIA.
  • Height: 57 (2.25)
  • Shaft Diameter: 9.5 (0.38) DIA.
  • Flange Hole Spacing: 6 HOLES EQ. SP. ON A 47.6 (1.875) DIA. B.C.

The shaft attachment includes three equally spaced flat surfaces to ensure non-slip mounting without the use of a key. Electrical connection is provided via a 1.5 m (5') 4-conductor shielded PVC cable with strain relief. The series holds NIST Standard and RoHS certifications.

Key Product Differences

The product line distinguishes between inch-pound models designated as TQ202 and metric models designated as TQM202, though both share the same physical construction and performance specifications. Model numbers follow a guide format of TQ202/TQM202 Series - <RANGE>, such as TQ202-25Z for 25 oz-inch or TQM202-0.175 for 0 to 0.175 N-m.

Compatible meters listed in the documentation include DP41-S and DP25B-S models, which are referenced alongside specific range options in the ordering table.
