Supported Applications

The Omega M12-FM Series consists of compensated field mountable thermocouple connectors designed for installation on existing sensor or extension cables. These units are engineered to maintain measurement accuracy when exposed to temperature gradients, addressing performance limitations found in standard brass or copper pin and socket connections.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series is rated IP67 and supports a maximum connector temperature of 85°C (185°F). The connectors accommodate cables with #18 to #24AWG conductors and an outer diameter ranging from 4 to 6 mm (0.16 to 0.24"). Electrical connections are established via screw-type terminals within the M12 housing.

Thermocouple Types

The series supports single and dual thermocouple configurations for the following types:
  • Type K (Chromel/Alumel)
  • Type J (Iron/Constantan)
  • Type T (Copper/Constantan)
  • Type E (Chromel/Constantan)

Color Coding Standards

The connectors adhere to ANSI and IEC color codes for positive and negative terminals:
  • Type K: Yellow/Red (ANSI), Green/White (IEC)
  • Type J: White/Red (ANSI), Black/White (IEC)
  • Type T: Blue/Red (ANSI), Brown/White (IEC)
  • Type E: Purple/Red (ANSI), Rose/White (IEC)

Configuration Options

The M12-FM Series offers configurable options for mounting orientation, gender, and channel count to suit specific field installation requirements.
  • Mechanical Configuration: Available in straight or right-angled styles.
  • Connector Gender: Offered as male (pin) or female (socket).
  • Channel Count: Single thermocouple models and dual thermocouple models are available. Dual configurations use a two-letter type designation in the model number (e.g., M12-KK-S-M-FM for Type K, straight, male).
