Supported Applications

The Omega OSTW-CC Series consists of standard size thermocouple connectors featuring an integral cable clamp cap. Designed for Type K, T, J, E, R/S, C, U, and N thermocouples, these connectors provide a secure termination point with strain relief capabilities when used with optional grommets. The series supports wire terminations up to Size 14 AWG and accepts stranded, solid, TWSH, overbraid, or RSC coil cord wires via the supplied back plate.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The OSTW-CC connectors are constructed from glass-filled nylon rated for an ambient operating temperature of -29 to 180°C (-20 to 356°F). The series features a high pull test rating and includes captive cover and clamp screws. A write-on window is provided on the housing, and internal wire dividers separate conductors. Note that minor discoloration may occur between 150°C (302°F) and 180°C (356°F), though electrical properties are not affected.

Configuration Options

The series offers extensive configuration options across thermocouple types, gender, pin style, and packaging quantities. Key configurable dimensions include:

• Thermocouple Types: Available for Type K (CHROMEGA™/ALOMEGA™), T (Copper/Constantan), J (Iron/Constantan), E (CHROMEGA/Constantan), R/S, C (CPX/CNX), U (Copper/Copper), and N (OMEGA-P™/OMEGA-N™).
• Gender: Male (M) or Female (F) connectors are available. Universal female versions mate with standard or miniature thermocouple connectors sold separately.
• Pin Configuration: Hollow pins are standard; solid pin male connectors are available by adding the suffix "-S" to the model number.
• Wire Termination: Contact washers allow for quick connect wire terminations without requiring a wire loop. The ⅜" back plate is supplied, with an optional ¼" back plate clamping up to 8.2 mm (0.325") OD.
• Packaging: Sold as single connectors or in bulk packs of 5, 50, or 100 units.

Optional accessories include the Quick Assembly Tool (OST-CC-TOOL), Silicone Wire Grommets for strain relief (SSRT-316-* series), and various Clamp Silicone Grommets (SSRT-CC-018, SSRT-CC-332, SSRT-CC-116, SSRT-CC-132) to accommodate different cable diameters.

The OSTW-CC series distinguishes itself through its integral clamp cap design and specific compensating alloys matched to ANSI color codes. Model numbers follow the format OSTW-CC-<Alloy Code>-<Gender>, with examples including OSTW-CC-K-M for a Type K male connector or OSTW-CC-T-F for a Type T female connector. Variants ending in "-S" denote solid pin configurations, while standard models utilize hollow pins. The series also includes specific model codes such as KI, NI, and R/SI to address variations within the thermocouple type families.
