Supported Applications

The Omega DPG9000 series comprises advanced digital industrial pressure gauges designed for precise measurement in process and test environments. These feature-packed units provide a menu-driven display for customization, including user-selectable engineering units, password-protected calibration functions, adjustable bar graphs, and configurable update rates. The range printed on the keypad ensures compliance with ASME B40.7 specifications.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The DPG9000 series delivers an accuracy of .25% Full Scale at the terminal point across a measurement envelope ranging from vacuum through 20,000 psi. The gauges operate within an ambient temperature range of 14/140°F (10/60°C) and can be stored between -4/158°F (-20/70°C). Enclosures are rated Weatherproof with IP65 protection.

Display resolution is standard at five digits; however, the unit of measure displays N/A if the resolution required for a specific full-scale pressure range exceeds 50,000 counts. The series supports ten engineering units: psi, In. H2O (with three temperature options: 20°C, 60°F, 4°C), Ft. H2O, mPa, mBar, kPa, kg/cm², Bar, inHg, and mmHg.

Configuration Options

The DPG9000 series is available in three primary power configurations and two case sizes, with optional outputs for integration into control systems.

Housing & Process Connections

• Case Sizes: 3" or 4 1/2". The 3" case utilizes stainless steel (SS), while the 4 1/2" case is available in fiberglass reinforced thermoplastic or black epoxy coated aluminum.
• Socket Locations: Lower, 3 o'clock, 9 o'clock, and 12 o'clock positions are supported.
• Socket Sizes & Standards: 1/4" or 1/2" NPT, JIS, DIN, SAE. Note that the 1/4" NPT option is available only with the 4 1/2" case; other standards are on application.

Power & Output Options

• Battery Models: Provide battery life greater than 1000 hours for the 3" case and greater than 3600 hours for the 4 1/2" case.
• Loop Powered (DPG91xx): Requires 12-36 Vdc. Electrical connection uses a 2-conductor, 20 AWG shielded cable with red (+ exec.) A and black (- exec.) B terminals.
• Line Powered: Operates on 12-36 Vdc (max 2VA).
• Analog Output: Optional 4-20mA output is available with unlimited turndown within the gauge range. Default configuration maps 4mA to 0% of the bar graph and 20mA to 100%; changing the bar graph limits adjusts the mA correspondence.
• Switching: Optional (1) or (2) SPDT switches with max contact ratings of 30Vdc, 1 amp, or 125Vac, 5 Amp. Switches are adjustable to 100% of range; deadband is defined as the difference between SETPT and RETRP pressure.

Display & Configuration Features

• LCD Display: Character height is .60" for the 3" case and .88" for the 4 1/2" case. An optional backlite (option code X8L) provides illumination.
• Dampening & Update Rate: Dampening options include None, average, or averaging intervals of 2, 4, 6, and 8 times per 100ms. Update rates are selectable as 100 ms, 200 ms, 500 ms, or 1 sec.
• Auto Off: Menu options allow auto-off settings of Never, 2 min., 5 min., 15 min., or 30 min.

Key Product Differences

The series is segmented by power source and output capability into distinct model families:

• Battery Models (DPG90xx): Self-contained units without external loop or line power requirements. Includes models DPG9030, DPG9045, and DPG9046.
• Loop Powered Models (DPG91xx): Designed for 2-wire installation with optional 4-20mA output. Includes models DPG9130, DPG9131, DPG9145, and DPG9146.
• Line Powered Models (DPG92xx): Designed for external line power with optional switching or analog outputs. Includes models DPG9230, DPG9231, DPG9245, and DPG9246.

Housing Material Distinction: The 3" case is constructed of stainless steel (SS), whereas the 4 1/2" case offers fiberglass reinforced thermoplastic or black epoxy coated aluminum options. FM Intrinsically Safe approval (Class 1, Div 1) is not available with the 4 1/2" polypropylene case, SPDT switch option(s) (XU1, U2), or Backlite (X8L) option.

Agency Approvals: The series carries CE, CSA, and CENELEC approvals. FM Intrinsically Safe Class 1, Div 1 approval is available subject to the housing and option restrictions noted above.
