Supported Applications

The Omega TL-8 series consists of Non-Reversible OMEGALABEL® Temperature Labels designed to indicate exposure to specified temperatures. These adhesive-backed indicators turn black when the designated temperature is reached, providing a permanent visual record. Documented applications include general use, aeronautical systems, electrical equipment monitoring, and HVAC environments. The labels are also utilized for confirming correct shipping conditions of critical products and testing PC board components.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The TL-8 series operates as a non-reversible temperature indicator with an activation threshold starting above -40°C/°F. Accuracy varies by the specific temperature range achieved:

• Up to 99°C (210°F): ±1°C (1.8°F)
• From 100°C (212°F) to 154°C (309°F): ±1.5°C (2.7°F)
• From 160°C (320°F) to 280°C (536°F): ±1% and ±1°C (1.8°F)

The series covers measurement ranges from 40–71°C up to 210–260°C, with specific model configurations available for distinct temperature bands.

Configuration Options

The TL-8 and related TL-10 series offer configurable options regarding the number of indicators per label strip and package quantity. The physical dimensions differ between series models:

• TL-8 Series: 46 x 18 mm (1.8 x 0.7")
• TL-10 Series: 54 x 18 mm (2.1 x 0.7")

The TL-8 series provides labels with eight distinct temperature points, while the TL-10 series offers ten points per label. Ordering follows a specific model number guide: TL-8-<TEMP_RANGE>-<PACKAGE_SIZE>. Package sizes are available as -10 (package of 10) or -30 (package of 30). Specific temperature ranges include:

• TL-8-105: °F 105–160 / °C 40–71
• TL-8-170: °F 170–240 / °C 77–116
• TL-8-250: °F 250–320 / °C 121–160
• TL-8-330: °F 330–400 / °C 166–204
• TL-8-410: °F 410–500 / °C 210–260

Ordering Examples

• TL-8-170-30: 8 temperature range labels (170, 180, 190, 200, 210, 220, 230, 240°F), package of 30.
• TL-10-105-30: 10 temperature range labels (105 through 180°F), package of 30.
