Basic DAQ
For a basic data acquisition this part works fine. I had to call into omega for help navigating the menu to get the scaling correct for the 4-20mA, 0-1000psi pressure transducer. If all you need to do is acquire and log data from display this part is just fine.

Gets the job done
Needed to connect different pressure transducer types. The set up was a bit confusing (always hate 100+ page manuals) but tech support was able to assist with no problems. All issues were resolved.

Externally exciting a pressure transducer with 24vdc & a 0-10V output, how is this wired with only one output wire from the transducer?
Assuming you are talking about a 3 wire Voltage output pressure sensor with +IN, Common and +OUT connections. Wire as follows. +IN to Term#6, Common to Term3#. +OUT to Term#2. Jumper Term#3 to Term#8

The Platinum User Guide and manual do not mention factory calibration. Do these units go through a calibration process? If so. is it traceable to NIST? Or do you consider calibration to be something that is done to analog devices only? Thanks.

I need a temperature gage that will read Liquid Nitrogen temp. -320°F I found this series, PLATINUM™ Series Digital Panel Meters, or do you have a self contained temp gage?

Is this device working with strain gauges (i.e. I.E.E. Low Profile Strain Gauge) directly? Is it possible to connect multiple sensors simultanisouly?
This device can cbe connected to one strain gauge.

does the dp8pt-dc have battery backup
Thanks for connecting with Omega. Part number DP8PT-DC does not have battery backup. You do not need to reprogram when power is lost. This unit will retain all the configuration parameters in non-volatile memory. Please email our Tech Support rep back if you have any further questions.

The DPT8 lists a low power option allowing the device to be powered by 24VAC (or 12-36V DC) on the data sheet, but it is not clear what model(s) are associated with this option. The models are listed as being either AC or DC powered only.

Thanks for the inquiry. Models are available with the low voltage (power) option and this option is indicated with a suffix "-DC".

What is the ethernet settings password? I searched all the manuals for "password" and for "login" and I didn't find the webpage password for ethernet settings.

Is the front panel rain-resistant?

Thank you for the request. The 1/8 DIN size bezel is rated NEMA1. The 1/32 and 1/16 size are rated NEMA 4X. We do not recommend any of these where there is exposure of the bezel to weather condition.
