Supported Applications
The Omega THS Series Sanitary Thermistor Sensors are designed for use in sanitary Clean-In-Place (CIP) systems. These probes feature wetted surfaces suitable for assembly to like-style piping connections via a 1½" 16 AMP Style flange.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates across a temperature range of -80 to 150°C (-112 to 302°F). Interchangeability is specified as ±0.2°C between 0 and 70°C. The sensors are designed for low operating currents; Omega THS series sensors should be powered with no more than 12 microamps of excitation current to prevent self-heating errors.
Wetted Materials & Finish
- Material: 316L Stainless Steel (SS)
- Surface Finish: 32 microinch or better
Care should be exercised when handling the sensors to ensure the surface finish is not damaged during installation.
Configuration Options
The THS series offers configurable options for probe duty, length, and thermistor element resistance. The standard configuration includes a 4-pin M12 male connector plug (M12C-PVC-4-S-F-5 mating cable sold separately).

- Duty Types: Heavy-Duty (THS-H-M12 Series) and Standard Duty (THS-S-M12 Series)
- Sheath Diameter: ¼" for both series configurations as listed in the ordering tables
- Process Connection: 1½" 16 AMP Tri-Grip™ (Tri-Clamp® Compatible) fitting
- Standard Lengths: 3", 4", 5", and 6". Custom lengths longer than 6" are available for an additional cost.
Sensor Elements & Resistance Codes
The series supports multiple thermistor element options with specific resistance values at 25°C:
- Code 10K (Standard): 10,000 Ω (Element Series 44006)
- Code 2K: 2,252 Ω (Element Series 44004)
- Code 3K: 3,000 Ω (Element Series 44005)
- Code 5K: 5,000 Ω (Element Series 44007)
- Code 30K: 30,000 Ω (Element Series 44008)
To order non-10kΩ elements, the model number prefix '10K' is replaced with the desired sensor code at no additional cost.
Key Product Differences
The series distinguishes between Heavy-Duty (THS-H-M12) and Standard Duty (THS-S-M12) configurations. While both share identical sheath diameters of ¼" in the provided ordering tables, they are categorized separately for selection purposes.
Model Number Structure
The model number follows the format: THS---D1-M12. For example:
- Heavy-Duty, 10kΩ, 3" length: THS-10K-H-0300-D1-M12
- Standard Duty, 10kΩ, 4" length: THS-10K-S-0400-D1-M12
The 'D1' designation and M12 connector are standard for this series. Optional extension cables are available through Omega.
