Supported Applications
The Omega iServer MicroServer™ Barometric Pressure, Temperature, and Humidity Transmitters (iBTX and iBTHX series) are Ethernet-connected transmitters designed for monitoring barometric pressure, temperature, relative humidity, and dew point. The system functions as a web server to serve active web pages displaying real-time readings, charts, and log data in standard formats compatible with spreadsheets or data acquisition programs.
Documented applications include:
- Clean rooms
- Computer rooms
- HVAC systems
- Pharmaceuticals
- Laboratories
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series supports measurement ranges of 10 to 1100 mbar (1 to 110 kPa) for barometric pressure, 0 to 100% RH for relative humidity, and -40 to 85°C (-40 to 185°F) for temperature using the industrial probe. The wand probe supports a process range of 5 to 45°C (41 to 113°F).
Performance specifications vary by sensor type and range:
- Barometric Pressure Accuracy: ±3.5 mbar at 25°C
- Relative Humidity Accuracy: ±2.75% (10 to 90%), ±3% (5 to 10% and 90 to 95%), ±4% (0 to 5% and 95 to 100%)
- Temperature Accuracy: ±0.5°C for wand probe (5 to 45°C), ±1°C for wand probe (0 to 5°C and 45 to 70°C); ±0.5°C for industrial probe (5 to 45°C), ±1.5°C for industrial probe (-40 to 5°C and 45 to 85°C)
- Resolution: Barometric Pressure: 0.1 mbar; Relative Humidity: 0.1%, 12 bit; Temperature: 0.1°C, 14-bit
- Hysteresis: ±1% RH
- Repeatability: ±0.1% for humidity, ±0.1°C for temperature
- Response Time (tau 63%): 8 seconds for humidity; 5 to 30 seconds for temperature
Ambient operating temperatures are 0 to 70°C (32 to 158°F) for iBT(H)X-W and iBT(H)X-D models, and 0 to 60°C (32 to 140°F) for the iBTX-SD model. Storage temperature is -40 to 85°C (-40 to 185°F).
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable mounting, probe types, and data logging options tailored to specific installation needs.
Housing & Mounting Options
- DIN Rail Mounted Unit (-D): Polycarbonate case with DIN rail mount (iBTX/iBTHX-D). Dimensions: 115 mm (4.53 in) W x 90.2 mm (3.54 in) H x 25.1 mm (0.99 in) D.
- Bench/Wall Mount Unit (-W): Valox® 364 PBT case with wall mount bracket (iBTX/iBTHX-W). Dimensions: 85.9 mm (3.38 in) W x 232.3 mm (9.15 in) H x 66.0 mm (2.60 in) D.
- Bench/Wall Mount with LCD (-SD): Steel metal case with wall bracket mount, includes LCD Display, Flash Memory Card, and Backup Battery (iBTX-SD). Dimensions: 82.6 mm (3.25 in) W x 232.3 mm (9.15 in) H x 61.6 mm (2.42 in) D.
Probe & Sensor Configurations
- iBTX: Barometric Pressure and Temperature only.
- iBTHX: Barometric Pressure, Temperature, Humidity, and Dew Point.
- Wand Probe (Standard): 159 mm (6.25 in) overall length, 19 mm (0.75 in) diameter; cable with DB9 connector or stripped wire leads depending on model.
- Industrial Probe (-5 option): 137 mm (5 in) overall length, 16 mm (0.63 in) diameter stainless steel sheath; includes 3 m (10') cable with DB9 connector or stripped wire leads.
Data Output & Connectivity
- Network: RJ45 Ethernet connector supporting standard TCP/IP packets and Web Server (HTTP, Telnet).
- iBTX-SD Specifics: Includes 2 GB SD flash memory card for data logging in .txt file format; two 1.5 Amp relay outputs.
Power Supply Options
- iBT(H)X-W and iBTX-SD: 9 to 12 Vdc (includes universal 100 to 240 Vac power adapter; includes 9V alkaline battery for backup on SD models).
- iBT(H)X-D: 10 to 32 Vdc.
Key Product Differences
The primary distinction between the iBTX and iBTHX series is sensor capability: the iBTHX includes humidity and dew point sensing, while the iBTX measures only barometric pressure and temperature. The difference lies solely in the probe/sensor configuration.
- Model Suffixes: Models ending in -D are DIN rail mounted; models ending in -W are bench/wall mount units with Valox® 364 PBT cases; models ending in -SD include an LCD display, flash memory card, and backup battery housed in a steel metal case.
- Probe Types: Standard wand probes (152 mm/6" cable) are included unless the industrial probe option (-5) is specified. Industrial probes feature stripped wire leads or DB9 connectors depending on the base model configuration.

Killer Application for Engineering/Scientific
These sensors are very good. We have them in all our labs and offices. The output data is utilized with our own custom desktop application. Sensing humidity is also a big plus for us due to the organic sensors we make.
The built-in server makes the sensor a powerful tool such that all in the company can use the data as a reference for the ambient environment.
Now we cannot live without them...thanks much!

Hello team, We purchased 'IBTHX-D' model and we see 'Open' for all the reading Humidity, temperature, pressure in the webpage. Tried to restart couple of times. Infact may times in 2 weeks. This is recently bought just 2-3 weeks back. Please suggest.
I am trying to capture Temp and Humidity to an output file but after execution the file is empty, and get no error. without the -o option I see expected readings in STDOUT. Here is CMD:
C:\iServer_MicroServer\httpget.exe -o "C:\iServer_MicroServer\temp1.txt" -r -S "*SRB3\r" 192.168.63.75:2000

Does this data logger uses a web interface that rely on Java? Is it compatible with recent web browsers?
If you want to communicate with this device directly to its IP address on a web browser, it will require the latest version of Java in order to view the graphs.
You can also use our Omega Enterprise Gateway software to monitor and record the data off of the device, which would not require Java.
