Supported Applications

The Omega RELAY-URM Series Universal Relay Module is designed for switching up to eight 15-ampere loads using low-level input signals from PLCs, process controllers, indicators, and motor starters. The module features flexible inputs that accept a wide variety of control signals, including direct acting or reverse acting configurations.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates with an electro-mechanical relay type (SPDT) rated for 15 ampere current and switched voltages up to 250vac or 18vdc. The coil voltage is specified at 5vdc, with a typical operate time of 10 Milliseconds and a release time of 5 Milliseconds. Mechanical life expectancy is listed as 10million operations, with a temperature rise of 25C (45F) at nominal coil voltage.

Input signals range from 5vdc to 24vdc, supporting Active High, Active Low, and Contact closure activation modes. Input Voltage High requirements are defined as 5vdc (Minimum) at 10 milliamp or 24vdc (Maximum) at 10 Milliamp, while Input Voltage Low is specified as 0.3vdc (Maximum). The module includes optical isolation for each input to prevent interference and ground loop problems.

Configuration Options

The series offers two versions: URM-Relay-400 with four relay outputs and URM-Relay-800 with eight relay outputs. Both configurations include a built-in universal power supply operating from 100vac to 240vac.

Power Supply Options

• Standard: Universal Input = 100vac to 240vac; Power = 25 watts (5Vdc).
• Dual Supply Output Option: Configurable as (5Vdc @ 1A, 12Vdc @ 1A) or (5Vdc @ 0.2A, 24Vdc @ 0.5A).
• Auxiliary Output: Standard Auxiliary Output provides 5Vdc @ 3 amp.

Mechanical & Electrical Connections

• Housing: Metal enclosure suitable for DIN rail or wall mounting, with optional panel mounting. The front panel features LEDs to indicate relay status, AC line status, and DC line status.
• Output Terminals: Euro style Pluggable connectors with screw terminals; 5mm (0.196") spacing; supports AWG22-14 wire size.
• Input Terminals: Euro style Pluggable connectors with screw terminals; 3.51mm (0.137") spacing; supports AWG28-16 wire size.

Key Product Differences

The primary distinction within the series is the relay output count: URM-Relay-400 provides four outputs, while URM-Relay-800 provides eight. Both models share identical power supply specifications (100vac to 240vac universal input) and enclosure dimensions. The Dual Supply Output Option allows for specific voltage/current configurations distinct from the standard auxiliary output.
